Be Mine

After 30 years he returned...a little gray around the edges, but with that brilliant sparkle still in his impossibly blue eyes. I could recall those eyes decades later just by closing my eyes. We reminisced, laughing and shaking our heads over those wild summer days we had spent together...awkward teenagers, our relationship like a dance moving closer and closer then moving quickly away.  In my eyes the perfect man.  How could I know that that perfection would only be refined with time, like a delightful wine, until he was the perfect image of that which I had been searching for my entire life. Together now, we dance...no longer moving away from each other but moving closer and closer like moths toward a flame...until we are one.
